The Newtown massacre has school administrators nationwide taking a closer look at their security polices and emergency procedures. "Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones out there,"said Cheryl Hall, principal of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Springfield. She appeared on Ozarks Today and talked to KY3's Maria Neider about security measure at the preschool through 7th grade school. This year, the school started a new automatic door locking system after classes start. "We can lock it down with our cell phones," Hall said. The main office was also moved to a more centralized location so traffic into the building is better monitored. Hallways require access cards and each door has surveillance cameras constantly under watch by a number of officials throughout the school grounds.
